The common risks of investing in the Mutual Fund:
Mutual Funds can provide benefits to investors if the securities portfolio that managed by Fund Managers is able to provide results as expected. However, if the securities portfolio declines in value, then the mutual funds can also result in a loss. Therefore, investors need to understand as well as consider the risks when investing in mutual funds. Types of risks in mutual funds are:
- Risk of Reduced Unit Holdings Value
The risk of reduced unit holdings value due to falling securities portfolio price and Net Asset Value of the Mutual Fund as the result of market condition changes (such as interest rates, inflation, etc.), default of securities issuers, or others.
- Legal Risk
Risk of changes in regulations related to mutual fund;
- Liquidity Risk
Risk that occurs when all or most of investors redeem their unit holdings simultaneously at the same time; and
- Liquidation Risk
The risk that the mutual fund is closed and liquidated by the regulator when the Net Asset Value of funds managed is less than the minimum requirement as stated in prospectus.
INVESTMENT IN THE FORM OF MUTUAL FUND CONTAINS RISK. A PROSPECTIVE INVESTOR MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND THE PROSPECTUS PRIOR TO DECIDING TO INVEST IN A MUTUAL FUND. PAST PERFORMANCE IS NOT INDICATIVE OF FUTURE RESULTS.
Mutual fund is a Capital Market Product, NOT PT. Bank Commonwealth’s (“Bank”) product and NOT the Bank’s third-party deposit, hence it is not guaranteed by the Bank and excluded from the government guarantee program or deposit guarantee. Bank act as Mutual Fund Selling Agent.
