Increased Fraud Attempts Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr



Social engineering crimes are common and the trend is expected to increase ahead of Eid al-Fitr. This crime is committed by psychologically manipulating the victim in revealing confidential information without realizing it.




 

Identify each time you receive a WhatsApp message from a party claiming to be a Bank officer, do confirm to ensure the WhatsApp message received (if needed) by contacting the Bank through the Bank Commonwealth's official service channel. If suspicious, do not reply. The official WhatsApp account of Bank Commonwealth has a green tick next to the name. If there is no green tick, immediately block and report the number.

 

Do not click on links or files with .apk format from unknown senders. If you have already clicked the link, immediately cancel it by turning off your mobile phone.

 

Do not provide information related to Username, User ID, PIN, Password, Passcode, OTP, date of birth, mother maiden name and other account data to anyone, including individuals claiming to be Bank Commonwealth officers. Make sure information related to your account and data is only submitted through official Bank Commonwealth channels.
