Sukarman Omar was appointed as Director of Retail & SME Business since 29 August 2022.
He is responsible for providing financial solutions for Retail and Small Medium Enterprise (SME) customers through many products such as savings, deposits, investments, bancassurance, foreign exchange, mortgage loans (KPR), working capital loans and investment loans. Previously, he served as Chief of Retail & SME Business and he has almost 40 years of working experience in the Banking industry. Prior to joining Bank Commonwealth, he worked at CIMB Bank Group, Malaysia as SME Banking Head responsible for their SME Business in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.
He has also worked for PT. CIMB Niaga Tbk as Chief MSME, Board of Management Member, responsible in developing and managing the quality and the development of SME Banking, Micro Linkage, Micro Finance, Pension Finance, with the focus on operational process, product development, people/resources, risk, compliance, and good corporate governance. His prior banking careers also included the success of growing PT. Bank Permata Tbk’s SME business significantly. Omar also previously worked at Bali Sekuritas, PT. Bank Bali and PT. Bank Buana.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Management from Riama University Medan in 1988.
